The emergency room at McLaren Hospital in Pontiac, Mich., closed to new patients after an overnight water main break caused flooding, according to an article on the WXYZ website.
The hospital said the west tower had to be evacuated and that the east tower was running on generator. No injuries were reported and patient care was not compromised.
According to a hospital statement: McLaren Oakland experienced a flood in our emergency department due to an external water main break in the area of Perry and Lawrence streets in downtown Pontiac. All patients were immediately transferred to the hospital’s West Tower, which has not been affected. Patient care has not been compromised.
The emergency department was closed to ambulance traffic while the break was repaired.
