More hospitals are using the healthcare Internet of Things (IoT) to improve operations and patient care by allowing access to building information via mobile devices.

IoT is also merging information technology (IT) and operational technology (OT) As more systems become cloud-based, the partnership between facilities and IT personnel will continue to grow.

There has been a switch to a convergence of building systems including HVAC, lighting, energy management and security into a centralized hub — providing facility personnel with more intelligent building data, the article said.
