Most of the healthcare services offered at Sentara’s Kitty Hawk facility were closed permanently due to building conditions, according to an article on the Outer Banks Voice website.
“Sentara Kitty Hawk has undergone several building repairs in recent years,” the company said in the October statement. “However, despite these repairs, the issues remain ongoing.
Sentara contracted with third-party evaluators to review HVAC, air quality and the building structure, which identified multiple major repairs that would be required to meet operational healthcare standards.
The closures include Sentara’s Urgent Care, Family Medicine Physicians, Orthopedic and Sports Medicine, OB/GYN and Surgery specialists, along with the Advanced Imaging Center, Outpatient Laboratory and Sentara Ambulatory Surgery Center.
