C. Carson Shearon, International Leader in Healthcare Planning and Design, Joins Perkins Eastman


International design and architecture firm Perkins Eastman is pleased to announce that C. Carson Shearon EDAC, LEED AP has joined the firm as Principal and Director of International Healthcare. In this role, Shearon will lead Perkins Eastman’s international healthcare strategy and lead, develop, and grow the healthcare practice in the Chicago region.

A prominent leader in the planning and design of healthcare facilities internationally, Shearon has more than 20 years’ experience in the science and healthcare fields, 15 of which have been dedicated to planning and designing healthcare facilities for clients around the world. Shearon’s award-winning body of work reflects a range of scales, including engagements for teaching, community, industrial, government, and regional healthcare facilities in the Middle East, India, China, Europe, and the Caribbean, as well as the US and Canada. Shearon is a member of the Architecture Advisory Board at the American University in Dubai; the Healthcare Knowledge Community of AIA Chicago; Sg2; and The Advisory Board.

Shearon is a published author, sought-after speaker, and teacher recognized for his insights on emerging global trends driving healthcare planning, design, and clinical experience. He holds a Master of Architecture from University of Illinois, Chicago; a Master of Biomedical Science from Creighton University School of Medicine; and a Bachelor of Science in biology from Creighton University. In addition, Shearon is an Honors recipient of the University of Wisconsin Business Management Program and holds a LEAN Healthcare Certification from University of Michigan College of Engineering.
