CDC report: More than 750 C. auris cases in U.S.

The number of confirmed cases hit 725 (with 30 more probable) as of June 30


The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention have reported 755 cases of Candida auris in the U.S., according to a report on the CDC website.

There were 654 confirmed and 30 probable cases at the end of April. The number of confirmed cases hit 725 (with 30 more probable) as of June 30. 

Cases have been reported in 12 states. New York, Illinois and New Jersey have experienced the highest number of cases, with each state reporting more than 100. New York has reported 355 confirmed cases.

Additionally, 1,474 patients have been found to be colonized with C. auris.
