California hospitals with cleanest rooms

Eighty percent of patients reported that their room was always clean


Sixteen hospitals in California topped the cleanliness rankings with 80 percent or more of patients reporting that their room and bathroom were "always" clean on their HCAHPS Survey, according to an article on the the Becker's Infection Control and Clinical Quality website.

The national average rate for patients reporting their room and bathroom were "always" clean is 74 percent.

The top five are:

Patients' Hospital of Redding — 91 percent

Stanislaus Surgical Hospital (Modesto) — 88 percent

Sutter Surgical Hospital-North Valley (Yuba City) — 87 percent

Fresno Surgical Hospital — 86 percent

Sutter Maternity and Surgery Center of Santa Cruz — 85 percent
