CertainTeedCeilings' new line of ceiling panels are designed to meet performance guidelines set by The Facilities Guidelines Institute’s “Guidelines for Design and Construction of Health Care Facilities” (2010 Edition). Performa Rx Symphony ceiling panels provide acoustical performance and visual appeal with added durability to withstand the demands of high-traffic healthcare settings.

Rx Symphony panels provide washability, stain resistance and scratch resistance, necessary for hospital emergency rooms, nurse stations and patient rooms. The panels' Overtone finish provides a brighter, more monolithic appearance.

Tested according to clean room class 4 (ISO 14644-1), the panels emit virtually no particles and are VOC compliant to the California Department of Public Health Standard Method Version 1.1, 2010.

The new product line is comprised of: Rx Symphony g, a gypsum-based panel; Rx Symphony f, a VOC compliant fiberglass-based panel; and, Rx Symphony m, a mineral fiber-based panel.

Rx Symphony f panels contain 29 to 34 percent post-consumer recycled content and offer an NRC of 0.95. Rx Symphony m panels contain 72 percent totalrecycled content and offer an NRC of 0.70 and CAC of 35. Rx Symphony g ceiling panels can provide a CAC of 42. All have a light reflectance of 0.90.

All Rx Symphony panels contribute to LEED credits, as well. Rx Symphony fiberglass and mineral fiber panels are backed by Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs). Certified by UL Environment, the EPDs evaluate life cycle assessment data for the products, including usage of raw materials and recycled content, packaging, health aspects and end-of-life impact—providing independent verification of the data in accordance with ISO 14025.
