Child killed by security golf cart in hospital parking lot

Three-year-old was hit by vehicle driven by Aiken Regional Medical Center security guard


A three-year-old girl was hit and killed in the Aiken Regional Medical Center parking lot by a golf car driven by a hospital security officer, according to a story on the WJBF website.

Police in Aiken, S.C., are investigating the incident.

The family was exiting the hospital toward the parking lot when the incident occurred. The driver of the golf cart was identified as a security officer at the facility.

The girl received emergency treatment at Aiken and was then airlifted to Georgia Regents Medical Center in Augusta, where she died.
