Choosing an emergency power generator

Focus on disaster preparedness has driven advances in the generator marketplace


Healthcare facilities should consider a number of factors when it comes to installing and using emergency power generators, according to an article on the Health Facilities Management website.

Generators should only be installed in locations that are protected from the weather and basements and rooftops should be avoided.

Hospitals usually need multiple generators, so parallel switchgear is important. 

Newer generators can parallel with other generators to promote both redundancy and generator capacity, the article said.
