Cintas in Montgomery, Alabama Earns VPP Star Certification

Cintas Corporation held a special ceremony today to recognize its Montgomery, Alabama distribution center for receiving Voluntary Protection Program (VPP) Star certification from the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA).

Cintas employee-partners were joined by several special guests, including Jose Gonzales from the OSHA Mobile area office, Linda Drumheller and Jessica Horsley from the Montgomery Chamber of Commerce, and the Montgomery Fire Department.

“I’m extremely proud of how hard our team worked to obtain this elite certification,”said Juan Turner, General Manager at Cintas Montgomery. “We understand that the only way to go to work, to do the work and to go home from work – is the safe way and we look forward to helping other organizations that have the desire to become world class in safety.”

VPP Star is OSHA’s highest recognition for the practice of and commitment to exemplary occupational safety and health, earned by businesses who meet rigorous safety requirements. Cintas is the number one participant in the nation for companies with VPP sites, with approximately 250 facilities throughout the world actively pursuing VPP recognition by OSHA or the equivalent under a similar certifying body.

Cintas has been involved with the VPP program since 2010, and currently, 98 Cintas locations have been achieved VPP Star status. Cintas also participates in similar programs in Canada, Mexico and Honduras.
