Columbia Lighting introduces LTRX Ambient/Exam enclosed Luminaire

Hubbell Lighting, a world leader in lighting innovation, announced today that Columbia Lighting has launched the LTRX, a unique ambient/exam LED luminaire that offers dual functionality for normal conditions and high lumens for critical examinations.

The LTRX features bi-level switching technology in a single package that uses standard, affordable controls and best-in-class performance as measured against competitors for lumens, watts and lumens per watt measurements. Step dimming LED drivers enable the user to transition from ambient to exam light levels using two standard light switches.

Facility managers at hospitals, acute care clinics, outpatient surgical centers, physician and veterinary offices, and laboratory environments who are responsible for creating an environment that offers both comfortable ambiance and the ability to dial-up high intensity lighting at critical moments will find the LTRX as a valuable way to satisfy their needs.

"The challenge was to make this luminaire affordable for customers looking to upgrade the lighting in their existing exam rooms or those looking for a lasting solution for new construction," said Randy Lewis, product manager for new product innovation at Columbia Lighting. "We've put a tremendous amount of time and energy into understanding the needs of facility managers to create lighting products that support the requirements of the exam room. The LTRX, which is simple and inexpensive because it needs only two light switches to switch between light levels, is a great example of how we blend proven technology and current research with industry experience to deliver solutions that embrace the challenges of these spaces."

Adding to the value offering is the high performance matte white Antimicrobial® paint that resists bacterial growth on exposed painted surfaces which comes standard on the LTRX. To further reduce the risk of contamination, the sealed optical compartment is easily cleanable.

The performance of the LTRX is best in class. The standard 90 CRI with a high R9 provides exceptional color rendering for critical examinations, and it is available in 3000K, 3500K and 4000K CCTs.
