New Milford Hospital's new security station established to have public come in through one primary entryway

By Healthcare Facilities Today

Visitors to New Milford Hospital are experiencing a more formal greeting, according to an article on the County Times website.

Earlier this year, a manned security station was established at the main entrance.

“It enables us to greet visitors and direct them through the hospital as well as keep track of the numbers,” John Lucas, the director of security for Western Connecticut Health Network, said in the article.

“It also provides more coverage of the campus and allows us to monitor it remotely,” he said.

When New Milford Hospital merged with Danbury Hospital in 2010, administrators identified a lack of technology to help monitor public traffic, and saw an opportunity to extend the security system in Danbury, the article said.
