Consolidated outpatient center designed to improve patient experience

Staff input informed Nebraska's Lauritzen Outpatient Center design

The new $71 million Lauritzen Outpatient Center, which consolidated Nebraska Medicine and Nebraska Medical Center services, was designed to improve patient experience, according to an article on the Health Facilities Maintenance website.

The 170,000-square-foot healthcare facility in Omaha, Neb., was built with input from 150 medical and administrative personnel at Nebraska Medicine’s outpatient facilities.

DuClinical teams created mock-up exam and operating rooms and studied patient flows.

The design features natural light with fritted windows and sunscreens that moderate heat load while brightening waiting areas and public spaces.
