Contec, Inc. Announces First-Ever Sponsorship in Support of the Industry that Helped Launch its Business

Contec, Inc., a global manufacturer of critical cleaning and contamination control products, is announcing its sponsorship of JD Motorsports (JDM) and driver Ross Chastain for three races during the 2019 NASCAR Xfinity Series (NXS) season—a first-ever sponsorship in Contec’s 30-year history. Both based in upstate South Carolina, Contec is proud to support JDM, one of the most renowned teams in the NXS circuit, fielding racers since 1983.

“Contec got its start in the automotive industry three decades ago, so we’re thrilled to return to our roots and support the industry that played such a key role in launching our company, which now has more than 800 associates worldwide,” said Jack McBride, Contec’s CEO. “It’s important to us to partner with local businesses like JDM to enhance life and create positive experiences within our community.”

Contec will be sponsoring driver Ross Chastain, in car #4, in races including Talladega Superspeedway (April 27), Michigan International Speedway (June 8) and Charlotte Motor Speedway (September 28).

“I’m grateful to know that companies such as Contec see the value in supporting local businesses, especially our family here at JDM,” said Johnny Davis, team owner of JD Motorsports. “This sponsorship makes us all proud to represent the Upstate.”

In 2018, Chastain earned his first career win at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway and 10th-place in the driver’s standings—also a first for a JDM driver. In February 2019, Chastain finished with a career best placing 10th in the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series Daytona 500, and won stage 2 in the NASCAR Racing Experience 300 NXS race.
