Continued healthcare construction growth projected through 2017

As baby boomers retire, the healthcare sector is poised for major gains, continued healthcare construction growth is projected through 2017 by economists from the AIA, the National Association of Home Builders and the Associated Builders and Contractors, according to an article on the Architect magazine website.

While recovery among the market sub-categories has been uneven and will continue to be, the economists forecast growth across the sectors through 2017.

“The demographics are incredibly favorable on the long run for healthcare,” AIA's Kermit Baker said.

“Seniors consume a lot of healthcare services, and as baby boomers are moving into their late 60s and 70s, we expect to see a lot of construction in the health care sector."
