Corewell Health Beaumont Troy Hospital to Build New Tower

The tower is expected to be completed in 2030.

Corewell Health has announced its plans to build a new tower at Corewell Health Beaumont Troy Hospital as part of a 94-bed expansion project that will support inpatient demand and improve patient access.

The 132,000-square-foot expansion reflects Corewell Health’s investment in the future of healthcare for Oakland and Macomb counties and will enable the hospital to meet the growing needs of the region for decades to come.

The project will increase the hospital’s licensed bed count from 530 to 624 while significantly increasing the percentage of private rooms to 72 percent, up from the current 40 percent. A new 128,000-square-foot parking deck with a connecting pedestrian bridge also will help improve patient and visitor access.

In addition to increasing bed capacity, the project includes addressing both the current and future state of emergency department flow and assessing both the hospital’s imaging and operating room platform.

Corewell Health earlier this month issued an RFP for a construction manager/general contractor firm to do advance planning for the proposed tower. The firm will be selected in November, and construction is expected to begin no later than August 2027. The tower is expected to be completed in 2030.
