Crest Pointe Rehabilitation & Healthcare Center Launches Cardiac Care Program

Crest Pointe Rehabilitation & Healthcare Center has launched a new Cardiac Care Program, naming cardiologist Dr. Leonard Sandler, FACC, as its director. The 118-bed skilled nursing facility in Point Pleasant is undergoing a multi-million-dollar renovation and specialty programming enhancement, including this new cardiac initiative designed to meet the specific needs of the surrounding community.

Crest Pointe’s Cardiac Care services are tailored for individuals suffering from challenging or life-threatening heart conditions, those recovering from cardiac events or surgical procedures, and individuals who are at risk for cardiovascular disease. The program is designed to promote independence and quality of life through reducing symptoms and decreasing disability in heart patients, while increasing their participation in physical and social activities.

In addition to consults with Dr. Sandler and other board-certified specialists, Crest Pointe heart patients benefit from certified nursing on staff, 24/7 cardiac monitoring as deemed appropriate, seven days per week therapy services as prescribed, 24/7 access to lab and radiology services, as well as additional services and therapies. Crest Pointe’s Cardiac Care Program also provides diet and nutritional education by a registered dietitian, education and training for family members, and post-discharge assistance and follow-up by licensed medical team leaders.

Dr. Sandler has specializations in cardiac and vascular disorders, and has earned board certifications in cardiac echocardiography and nuclear cardiology medicine. He is affiliated with the Hackensack Meridian Health System and RWJ Barnabas Health System. Dr. Sandler is a partner with Shore Heart Group, PA, which has seven offices in Monmouth and Ocean Counties, and he serves as the group’s director of the Department of Echocardiography.

Marquis Health Services, which provides skilled nursing administrative services for Crest Pointe, was instrumental in developing the Cardiac Care program. “Crest Pointe is thrilled to have Dr. Sandler lead its new cardiac initiative; he has practiced in Monmouth and Ocean Counties for more than 15 years and is well-respected for his expertise in cardiology,” said Pam Montemurno, Marquis’ regional director of business development. “Crest Pointe provides a multi-disciplinary approach to its care and rehab services.”

Crest Pointe is aligned with the region’s leading health systems, including Hackensack Meridian and RWJ Barnabas, aiming to ensure the best possible outcomes for patients. Located at 1515 Hulse Road in Point Pleasant, Crest Pointe Rehabilitation & Healthcare Center provides post-hospital care, short-term rehab and long-term residential care. The facility offers patients a scenic place to rehab and recover, as many patient rooms boast views of the Point Pleasant Canal.
