Jones Memorial Hospital, a 70-bed acute care facility in Wellsville, N.Y., took a week to bring back its computer systems after a cyberattack last week at the end of 2017, according to an article on the Healthcare Informatics website.
Jones Memorial said clinicians worked with the IT team to conduct system checks prior to resuming full operational status.
The hospital's information technology experts partnered with IT professionals from the University of Rochester, Noyes and St. James hospitals.
Hospital officials said that during the downtime the hospital has been using standard computer downtime procedures which they “regularly train and prepare for,” including manually entering information into patient medical charts while some of our systems are off-line.
