The Methodist Health System in Dallas has broken ground on a $118 million patient tower at the Methodist Mansfield Medical Center.
The 110,000-square-foot tower is scheduled to open in fall 2015 and will include the expansion of support services to the acute care center, according to an article on the Dallas Business Journal website.
The expansion will include 34,000 square feet of additional operating rooms, cardiology and gastroenterology services and 64,000 square feet of additional support services including lab, pharmacy, materials management, biomed and sterile processing.
The new tower initially will open with 54 beds and shell space for 64 more. Construction of the tower will take place alongside normal hospital operations and the tower will be integrated with the existing building, according to the article.
