The Department of Defense (DOD) is looking for potential contractors and locations in Florida, to set up emergency mobile hospitals to treat coronavirus patients, according to an article on the CNBC website.
The Army is helping the state in case it needs to quickly add surge capacity as Covid-19 cases continue to rise.
The DOD is looking for contractors who can build temporary facilities with 10 days notice.
The move comes as Florida battles one of the most rapidly growing coronavirus outbreaks in the world. As of July 28, there were almost 6,000 coronavirus deaths in Florida, according to a chart on the Yahoo News website.
