Detroit Medical Center has decided not to outsource union security officer jobs, according to an article on the Becker's Hospital Review website.
The medical center planned to outsource some security officer jobs to a private contractor, G4S, the vendor of the medical center's parent company, Tenet Healthcare.
The union representing 59 certified police officers at two DMC hospitals filed unfair labor practice charges with the National Labor Relations Board.
The charges included objections to aspects of the outsourcing, including pay and benefits.
