Drivers struggle to bring doctors, organs to hospital during blizzard in Ireland

Defense Forces deployed 290 soldiers and 117 vehicles to fight Storm Emma


A team of civil defense drivers battled a blizzard to bring doctors and organs to a Dublin hospital so a transplant operation could be performed, according to an article on the Irish Mirror website.

The Dublin Branch of Civil Defense provided transport for the medics and the organs from Tallaght Hospital to the Mater Hospital.

Defense Forces deployed 290 soldiers and 117 vehicles to deal with Storm Emma. 

They worked primarily in support of ambulance services and medical staff transfer to support the operation of hospitals.
