The Electronic Healthcare Network Accreditation Commission (EHNAC), a non-profit standards development organization and accrediting body for organizations that electronically exchange healthcare data, today announced the appointment of three new commissioners to assist in the management and control of the Commission. Joining a team of 13 existing EHNAC commissioners from both private and public organizations, the following three industry leaders will serve EHNAC for two-year terms:
- Bill Alfveby, vice president and chief information security officer, Surescripts;
- Priscilla Holland, senior director, NACHA; and
- Karly Rowe, vice president of product management, fraud & identity management, Experian Health.
"The addition of three well-respected industry stakeholders to EHNAC's driven Board of Commissioners strengthens our ability to fully represent the industry and continue to establish standard criteria and accredit organizations for security, confidentiality, accountability and efficiency that electronically exchange healthcare data," says Debra Hopkinson, vice president of operations for EHNAC. "We look forward to the valuable guidance that Bill, Priscilla and Karly bring to EHNAC as we continue to set the foundational requirements for measuring an organization's ability to meet federal and state healthcare reform mandates in an ever-evolving healthcare landscape."
Bill Alfveby is chief information security officer (CISO) for Surescripts. Prior to joining Surescripts, he worked for more than 20 years in information technology and enterprise risk management with a focus on information security and privacy. Most recently, Alfveby was the deputy CISO for a Fortune 25 company in the healthcare sector where he led their strategy, planning and execution teams. Before that, he was a management consultant for technology, security and risk leaders who were striving to build or mature risk management programs such as security, privacy, and third-party management. Alfveby started his career as a technologist leading application development teams and efforts for a range of companies from start-ups to Fortune 100.
Priscilla Holland is the senior director of healthcare and industry verticals for NACHA. As senior director, she leads NACHA's healthcare payments program and works on other payments and remittance information and standards projects. Previously at NACHA, Holland led NACHA's international programs. She has more than 20 years of experience in cash management, project management and product development. Prior to joining NACHA in 1996, Holland was a vice president and senior product manager for First Interstate Bank. She is an Accredited ACH Professional (AAP) and a permanent Certified Cash Manager (CCM).
Karly Rowe, vice president of product management, fraud & identity management, is responsible for Experian Health's Fraud and Identity solutions, which help healthcare organizations match, manage and protect identities across the ecosystem. She is also responsible for finding new ways to leverage Experian's data and analytics expertise to develop and deliver new, innovative solutions to the healthcare industry. Rowe has been with Experian for six years and holds a bachelor's degree in marketing management and retail management from Syracuse University and a masters of business administration from Arizona State University.
