EHNAC Executive Director to Join Healthcare Industry Leaders at WEDI 2017

The Electronic Healthcare Network Accreditation Commission (EHNAC) announced today that Executive Director Lee Barrett will join some of the biggest names in healthcare information technology at WEDI 2017 - Driving Solutions in a Changing Healthcare Environment - taking place at the Loews Hollywood Hotel in Los Angeles, Calif. from May 15-18, 2017. Barrett will discuss the value of accreditation in ensuring adherence to health data processing standards and compliance with security infrastructure and integrity requirements during the session "Navigating the Waters of HIT Certification" which takes place on Thursday, May 16, from 3:25-4:25 pm PT. Joining Mr. Barrett for this presentation will be Michael Frederick, vice president, operations, HITRUST and Robert Bowman, associate director, transactions, CAQH CORE.

"For EHNAC, 2017 has seen several impactful changes to the HIT accreditation process, including updates relative to the OCR Phase II Protocol, aligning HIPAA privacy and security criteria, and significant edits to reflect DirectTrust's new releases of its Certificate and HISP Policies. It's clear the ever-changing healthcare landscape will continue to impact the way stakeholders meet legislative conformance when it comes to the privacy, security and confidentiality of data," said Mr. Barrett. "I'm looking forward to joining the many industry leaders and influencers who will gather at WEDI 2017 to discuss not only the many challenges our industry is facing, such as navigating the HIT certification process, but the solutions we can instill as well. It's sure to be an insightful event."

WEDI 2017 is the annual spring conference of the Workgroup for Electronic Data Interchange (WEDI), the nation's leading nonprofit authority on the use of health IT to create efficiencies in healthcare information exchange and a trustedadvisor to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS). The event will bring together top leaders in healthcare information technology seeking to engage in discussions around the driving forces behind an ever-changing healthcare environment. Details on Barrett's sessions as well as a complete conference agenda can be found here
