Organizational opportunities for facility leaders


For environmental service leaders who are reviewing department  processes, an article on the FacilityCare website offers some opportunities:

• Utilization. Using a computer with a professional staffing software product will permit flexibility provide an easy process to update rooms when remodeling occurs.

• Census-based staffing. An effective management system includes a daily “snapshot” of the occupied rooms or beds and a subsequent subtraction of work minutes for each vacant room or bed that does not need cleaning.

• Communications: The department must be able to communicate often and use a variety of media, which may include newsletters, memos, blogs, tweets, emails, letters, web updates, training materials, professional presentations, dashboards and reports.
