Ecophon Gedina Fiberglass Ceiling Panels Bring Exceptional Acoustical Performance to a Broad Range of Applications

Valley Forge, Pa. – CertainTeed Ceilings is bringing the proven performance of its Ecophon brand to an even greater number of projects by re-introducing the Ecophon® Gedina® family of acoustical fiberglass ceiling panels. Through the reinvigoration of the Gedina product line, architects will have even more options when balancing the economic, aesthetic and acoustical aspects of their designs.
Comprised of high-density fiberglass, Gedina offers superior sound absorption with an NRC of .90—making it ideal for open-plan offices, libraries, hospitals, or anywhere speech privacy and acoustical control is important. Gedina also offers the industry’s highest recycled content of 71 percent, contributing to sustainable interior environments.

“Recent studies have highlighted the importance of acoustics in indoor environments—especially areas designed for healing, learning and working,” said Dawn Chittick, director of marketing for CertainTeed Ceilings. “This growing focus was the driver for adding Gedina to our range of acoustical solutions, as it offers all the performance benefits the architectural community has come to expect from our Ecophon line and is a cost-effective solution well-suited for these types of facilities.”

Gedina is offered in multiple sizes and edge options. Panels can be installed on 9/16-inch or 15/16-inch grid systems and are available in various sizes ranging from 2-foot by 2-foot to 2-foot by 8-foot. The entire range is proprietary with a 9/16-inch panel thickness for easy installation.

The product features an exclusive Akutex T white finish, which offers outstanding light reflectance of .84 and a bright, monolithic surface that is scratch-resistant and easily washable. Gedina panels are also inherently resistant to mold and mildew growth as well as material sag and have a Class A fire rating.

As experts in the science of sound, CertainTeed Ceilings serves as a single source for high-quality ceilings that create acoustically friendly, aesthetically captivating environments. Encompassing the Performa, Ecophon and Gyptone brands along with Decoustics — a leader in high-precision, custom-engineered solutions — the company offers the perfect balance of innovation, budget and beauty with products that range from basic high-performance panels to premium, customizable systems.
