Change and innovation are always at the forefront in healthcare, so  environmental service department leaders would be smart to embrace the changes, according to an article on the Health Facilities Management website.

There are a number of key leadership areas to immediately consider:

• Taking a programmatic approach. A strong, consistent, evidence-based program facilitates all wheels spinning in the same direction.

• Leading the standardization of consumables across settings. Fewer product lines bought in volume drives pricing down.

• Branding across facilities in the network or system. Brand ambassadors are the backbone of a successful program and partners in something bigger.
