Essentia Health and Marshfield Clinic Health System are evaluating the way the two organizations might combine to form an integrated regional health system. A combined organization would feature a network of 3,800 providers serving more than 2 million people in rural and mid-urban communities through more than 150 sites of care, including 25 hospitals.
By coming together, Marshfield Clinic Health System and Essentia Health would increase patient access to primary and specialty care and enhance health outcomes for the communities they serve. An integrated regional healthcare system that combines the strengths of both organizations will lead to more opportunities to expand needed services and provide high-quality care at an affordable cost.
The Memorandum of Understanding is the first step toward a potential merger. More information will be shared as discussions progress.
