The first step is identifying key stakeholders. Before you begin window shopping or entertaining demonstrations, clearly define organizational requirements to avoid getting sucked in prematurely to the wrong system.

After that:

  • Define the workflows
  • Develop system specifications
  • Research potential providers
  • Solicit and evaluate proposals
  • Interview top candidates
  • Contract and begin implementation
