The city of Hayward, Calif., will incorporate a healthcare facility within its new fire station, according to an article on the Livability.com website.
The Firehouse Clinic is a collaboration between the Hayward Fire Department, Tibercio Vasquez Health Center, Acute Care Hospitals and Alameda County Health Care Service Agency’s Emergency Medical Services Division.
It will be an alternative to community clinics that can have long wait times and will offer a broad range of healthcare services.
“It really establishes the true continuum of healthcare, from preventive care to first responders to in-hospital to discharge,” Frank Holland, Hayward community and media relations officers, said in the article.
