Florida provider to turn shopping center into 'one-stop shop' for healthcare

Jacksonville company builds in shopping areas with large buildings available for remodeling

Family Care Partners, in Jacksonville, Fla., will open its third care center, taking over about half of a shopping center, according to an article on The Florida Times Union's website.

Dr. William Carriere, founder of Family Care Partners, said he looks to build in neighborhood shopping areas that offer large buildings available for remodeling and rehabilitation. Family Care Partners did the same with previous locations.

In addition to primary care, the new center will offer an imaging center to provide X-rays and MRIs, surgery rooms and facilities, OB/GYNs, pediatricians, physical therapists, health coaches and elder care specialists, the article said.

The goal of the facility is to cover a patient’s main medical concerns at an all-in-one center, said Family Care Partners communications director Andy Stansfield.

“It’s the most convenient model for the patient, because they aren’t forced to travel to multiple places in town for their care,” he said in the article. “Nearly any type of procedure can be done and a wide range of medical specialists can be seen in a single location.”

“We’re trying to move more primary care services into the neighborhood because it is better for the convenience of our patients,” Carriere said.
