AHA’s Health Research & Educational Trust explores the challenges of ensuring a population has access to healthy food


The American Hospital Association’s Health Research & Educational Trust explores the challenges of ensuring a population has access to healthy food in a new guide, according to an article on the Hospitals & Health Systems website.

Food insecurity is one determinant of population health. The AHA guide  offers some recommendations for how hospitals can help in this area.  

One way a healthcare facility can help is by screening patients for food insecurity and hunger and partnering with community organizations to offer programs and resources.

The AHA guide includes clinical and nonclinical recommendations and case studies.
