Ninety-three percent of healthcare facility patients and visitors agree that hand hygiene is more important in healthcare settings


A recent study by Ipsos Public Affairs has shown that hand hygiene behaviors affects patient experience, according to an article on the Infection Control Today website.

Ninety-three percent of healthcare facility patients and visitors agree that hand hygiene is more important in healthcare settings

Seventy one percent of survey respondents are concerned about acquiring a hospital acquired infection (HAI). Ninety-six percent of respondents say they would be concerned if healthcare professionals were not practicing good hand hygiene.

Eighty-four percent said that hand-washing signage plays a role in how they view a facility's safety and quality of care. in fact, 83 percent say they would prefer to visit a healthcare facility that displays handwashing signage over one that does not.
