Haq to Lead Mechanical Group for WSP USA in Seattle


 Mohammed Haq is named a vice president in the Seattle office of WSP USA, formerly WSP | Parsons Brinckerhoff, a leading engineering and professional services organization.

In his new position, Mr. Haq will head the mechanical engineering group for the Seattle buildings practice. His responsibilities will include client management, project development as well as the supervision and mentoring of staff.  He has over 18 years of experience providing mechanical design services for new and renovated facilities, including design of HVAC, plumbing, and mechanical piping systems for office buildings, universities, libraries, hospitals, commercial, and industrial facilities. Prior to joining WSP, he was an associate principal with a Seattle consulting firm, responsible for managing a team of 20 individuals designing mechanical systems for aviation, higher education, municipal and research facilities.

“Mohammed is the ideal candidate to lead our mechanical engineering practice in Seattle as we look to expand its footprint,” noted Tom Marseille, senior vice president and head of WSP’s Seattle buildings office. “He has an extensive track record managing complex mechanical projects, and has proven to be an effective business development and marketing manager.”

A licensed professional engineer in Washington, Oregon and Texas, Mr. Haq received a B.S. in mechanical engineering from Seattle University. He is a member of the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers; Council of Educational Facility Planners International;Association for Computer Operations Management; and Design Build Institute of America (DBIA).  He is currently the vice president for the I2S International Institute for Sustainable Laboratories Emerald City Chapter.

Mr. Haq is actively involved in local community non-profit organizations and actively partakes in multiple activities to help build thriving communities, including volunteering as a coach at Lake Washington Parks and Recreation, volunteering with the Muslim Community Resource Center (MCRC), and at the Medina Academy, where he recently stepped down from his role as a Board Member after 10 years.
