Healthcare organizations turn to outsourcing for a variety of reasons. Cost savings often is often at the top of that list, but that particular tool is always in a manager’s arsenal should the need arise. As organizations continue looking for solutions to the challenges created by the COVID-19 pandemic, outsourcing is never too far out of mind.
Consider the case of Premier Health in Dayton, Ohio, which recently announced it is outsourcing about 700 employees across the health system as it transitions environmental services and nutritional services departments to an external partner, according to Becker’s Hospital Review.
On Jan. 10, Premier Health plans to transition the environmental services and nutritional services departments to Compass One Healthcare, which includes employees who work in these departments becoming employees of Compass. The system anticipates these employees will continue to work in the same locations and under similar terms and conditions as they have with Premier Health.
