Healthcare facility trends to expect as staff returns to work

Organizations consider how to best eliminate the risk of coronavirus transmission among staff

To safely support the return of nonessential staff, healthcare organizations will need to enact new physical and digital changes in the months ahead, according to an article on the HealthTech website.

Key strategies should include:

  • Protective infection prevention, such as  like sealed devices and cough shields
  • Touchless and wireless tools, such as  temperature scanners at points of entry to determine if people  require additional screening before being given access to the facility
  • Delivering care virtually within the facility, such as virtual rounding

Virtual rounding and other protective solutions will likely endure after the current pandemic, as there will always be a need for some form of isolation within healthcare settings.
