Jackson South Community Hospital in Kendall, Fla., added a helipad in 2015 to provide air rescues and transportation services. The project was part of an initiative to obtain Level II Trauma Center designation for the facility.
Key project factors:
- Compressed procurement time
- Work around the ER’s 24/7 functionality
- Small Business Enterprise (SBE) subcontracting goals
- Coordination with many agencies and construction was completed while approval from the state for Trauma II designation in process
The total project timeline took approximately six months and the Jackson South Trauma Center now stands on its own as a full-service, around-the-clock trauma center. The project was completed on time and on budget with job order contracting.
