Honeywell expands Stryker controller portfolio to bring increased application flexibility

By Healthcare Facilities Today

MINNEAPOLIS — Honeywell (NYSE: HON) announced today the expansion of its configurable Stryker™ controller portfolio with the addition of the Stryker CVAHU model.  Now contractors have the ability to provide control for both variable air volume (VAV) and constant volume air handling unit (CVAHU) applications.

Honeywell’s Stryker controllers provide off-the-shelf configurability so contractors can engineer a job faster.  Styker is the controller line contractors want when the engineering and installation need to be done quickly.  Not every job requires a fully programmable controller, like Honeywell’s powerful Spyder™ controller, and custom programming for every job can potentially slow the overall install down – reducing contractor’s bottom line.  Stryker is a robust controller that can be easily installed. Its off-the-shelf configurations will be functioning in seconds.  Benefits of a Stryker controller include:

· Reduced engineering time

· Configurable through a Zio® or Zio® Plus wall module or over the network

· Two additional accessory loops for flexibility, as needed

· Ability to create custom sensor tables so existing sensors can be used

· Available for CVAHU or VAV applications

“Stryker CVAHU continues the evolution of our configurable controller line,” said Tom Rosback, General Manager of Commercial Control Systems at Honeywell. “Contractors don’t always want or need the full flexibility and custom programming that comes with programmable HVAC controllers.  Contractors are busy and they need to get on and off of the job quickly and Stryker provides just that.”
