Bootham Park Hospital in York, U.K., was forced to close after the ceiling collapsed on inspectors, according to an article on the Daily Express website.
Around 30 patients on the acute admission wards were moved after part of the building fell on top of Care Quality Commission (CQC) inspectors.
The 18th century building had previously been deemed unfit for purpose and a follow up inspection found the required improvements had not been made.
Among the issues identified were poor hygiene and infection control and a lack of staff on some wards.
