Survey says most American hospitals finding security more challenging


Most American hospitals are finding it more challenging to maintain security in their facilities, according to the Health Facilities Management 2016 Security Survey.

Eight-five percent of the hospitals are investing in management training to help clinical and nonclinical staff deal with security threats, according to an article on the Hospitals & Health Networks website.

Most hospitals have increased their security budgets to upgrade security systems and capabilities through additional equipment or staff.

Hospital also are devoting more resources into cybersecurity and protecting electronic health record information.
