The Memorial Hermann-Texas Medical Center in Houston is planning a $650 million expansion and renovation project to accomodate advanced technology and meet the needs of a growing region, according to an article on the Healthcare Construction + Operations website.

The expansion will add 1.34 million square feet of space, 160 new beds and 71 replacement beds, 24 new operating rooms, 16 additional emergency room bays, a 333-seat cafeteria and a new parking structure.

Six shelled floors and six shelled operating rooms will be constructed to accommodate future growth, the article said.
