ID Solutions Selects Tyco Security Products’ hattrix Managed Access Control for Multi-site Management

Tyco Security Products has announced that ID Solutions, a San Diego-based IT solutions provider, has deployed the hattrix cloud-based access control solution for centralized security management of a network of locations that spans seven states.

ID Solutions chose the hattrix solution for several multi-state properties, which include commercial rental units. The hattrix solution enables ID Solutions to outsource the systems’ hardware and database, as well as complex and time consuming tasks such as configuration of devices, system backups and badge entry, to California Commercial Security (CCS), ID Solutions’ San Diego-based systems integrator. Moving some of the system support responsibility to CCS has reduced the costs associated with its security systems, including hardware, software and staffing costs while allowing ID Solutions staff to focus on their core IT management expertise.

“Before this project, every building had its own access and intrusion system,” said John Lopez, IT Operations Manager for ID Solutions. “Using the hattrix platform brings those disparate systems together and now we can manage all alarms, doors and badges from a web browser, streamlining our operations significantly – it’s fantastic.”

hattrix facilitates single-interface management of all 10 of the client’s buildings, which are located in Colorado, New Mexico, Oregon, Nevada, Arizona, California and Washington. Using the browser-based EntraPass Web, human resources staff can add access cards for new employees or delete cardholders who are no longer with the company. Reports accessed via EntraPass Web or executed through the EntraPass Go mobile app provide ID Solutions staff information on card swipes, building access, denied access and traffic patterns.

The hattrix Security Service solution also integrates with the existing DSC intrusion system, which includes DSC PowerSeries alarm panels. The hattrix/DSC integration is currently being used with six of the 10 properties and it is the first time ID Solutions has been able to integrate the client’s access and intrusion security systems together.

ID Solutions is currently in the process of installing the hattrix Security Service/DSC integration with DSC PowerSeries in its client’s 11th property located in Texas, with plans to do the same in a 12th building shortly thereafter.
