Infection control 'partnerships' spark concern that industry is leading science

Experts say we need to be sure that these practices and products are better and not just creating potential for further resistance


Partnerships between healthcare facilities and disinfectant manufacturers are common and frequently beneficial to advancing new products and practices, according to an article on the Contagion Live website.

Some hospitals work with a disinfection company to test new products, and bring attention to the product and the hospital's infection prevention practices, the article said.

But they have sparked concern that instead of science leading industry, the industry is leading science.
