Infusion center uses design to create calming environment

The design has dark wood-grain floors, walls painted in soft, neutral hues and Buddhist images throughout

Infusion Express' recently opened Chicago-area facility was designed to provide a calm and welcoming atmosphere to patients, according to an article on the Health Facilities Maintenance website.

The facility has a mix of private space and family rooms, so the patient can bring a friend or family members, read a book, watch TV, or sit and talk with other patients.

The design has dark wood-grain floors, walls painted in soft, neutral hues and Buddhist images throughout.

All of the rooms have dimmable lights but no doors so that when nurses are checking on patients, they can peek in without having to knock and potentially wake a napping patient, the article said.
