There were 31 healthcare data breach incidents in February 2017 and 58 percent of them were linked to facility insiders, according to an article the Becker's Health IT & CIO Review website.
According to a Protenus report, insiders were responsible for 18 of the breaches.
Nine were attributed to insider error and eight to wrongdoing.
Nineteen percent were linked to loss or theft and 12 percent to hacking.
