Intellihot launches new IQ1501 tankless water heater

CHICAGO — Intellihot today announced the launch of the iQ1501, the company’s newest product in its line of tankless hot water heaters.  Showcased for the first time at the 2015 AHR Expo this morning, the iQ1501 is Intellihot’s most powerful hot water heater to-date, delivering 1.5 million BTUs (British Thermal Units) with no storage tanks required.

The iQ1501 offers 50 percent increased capacity from the iQ1000 model, in a compact unit that’s just 680 lbs. and 30” wide and fits through most elevator doors.  The tankless water heater supplies 41 GPM at 70°F temperature rise non-stop, and enables users to easily cascade and common vent four units together for 164 GPM at 70°F rise.  The iQ1501 eliminates single-point failures using Intellihot’s patented masterless controls, and can be used both indoors and outdoors.

“Our company continues to reinvent what it means to provide ‘smart water,’” says Sridhar Deivasigamani, Intellihot CEO and President. “The iQ1501 not only enables users to heat water on-demand, but learns building recirculation to intelligently manage unit power and temperature control.”

Other iQ1501 product features include:

·  Unique premix gas valve train can operate on as low as 2.5” WC gas pressure without any loss of capacity, meaning no more failure to ignite

·  Expandable 316L cycle-proof and scale-free stainless steel heat exchanger handles thousands of thermal cycles, eliminates scale build and keeps lime in suspension

·  Self-learning building recirculation using Intellihot’s iNTouch (optional factory-installed BMS) cuts pump power usage by 30 percent

Intellihot products heat water instantly when it is needed, reducing waste by eliminating the need for large, continuously heated water tanks.  Offering greater capacity than similar systems, Intellihot products are equipped for high-cycle commercial applications.

Founded after a traditional water heater broke down and flooded the founder’s basement, Intellihot established the first new water heating company in the U.S. in decades.  The company designs, manufactures and assembles tankless water heaters for residential, commercial and industrial applications.
