CHI Health Mercy Hospital staff tests procedures for responding to a medical helicopter crash, according to an article on The Daily Nonpareil website.
The staff of the hospital in Council Bluffs, Iowa worked with the Council Bluffs Firefighters and a crew from LifeNet Air Medical Services.
“It’s a low probability but high risk, if it would happen,” said Denise Anderson, a patient safety/risk management nurse at Mercy.
Members of the management team gathered in the command center and discussed how the incident had affected the hospital as a whole and worked on a plan to adjust.
