Kaiser Permanente moves Joshua trees on site of new Calif. facility

14 healthy, transplantable Joshua trees are being relocated


Before the groundbreaking of the new Kaiser Permanente Medical Office Building in Hesperia, Calif., 14 healthy, transplantable Joshua trees are being relocated, according to an article on the Daily Press website.

The trees are being moved to another part of the nearly 10-acre property before the November groundbreaking.

The relocating of Joshua trees for a construction project was a first for Kaiser.

Of the 14 trees that are being relocated, three are slated to be reused in the medical office building’s final landscaping, with a possibility for more to be moved and replanted along a Kaiser “Thrive” walking path when the building is complete, Kleist said.
