Legrand Enhances Evolution Series with more product offerings in floor box and poke-thru lines

Legrand, a global leader in power, light and data technologies, announces enhancements to its Evolution Series family of products with the addition of floor boxes and newly designed covers for its 6-inch and 8-inch poke-thru devices. These enhancements and additions continue to provide solutions for spaces for where power, communications and AV connectivity is needed in new or retrofit projects.

Evolution Series floor boxes are designed to work in any type of floor construction, including concrete, raised, or wood. New 4- and 5-gang versions are in addition to existing 6-, 8-, and 10-gang floor boxes.

“Our customers enjoy many of the unique features the 6-, 8-, and 10-gang floor boxes provide, but were asking for a lower capacity option,” said Mike Cole, Senior Product Manager for Legrand’s Wiremold® product line. “So, we added to our family of floor boxes by developing the new 4-and 5-gang floor boxes that all the come with the same unique features found in our existing line.”

The success of the newly released Wiremold 10-inch poke thru, as part of the Evolution Series family of products, has led to design enhancements to the 6-inch and 8-inch poke-thru covers. The 6-inch and 8-inch poke-thru’s now come with the same durable, aesthetically pleasing and easy to use cover that is found on the 10-inch poke-thru.   The heavy-duty, die-cast aluminum covers are built to withstand heavy foot traffic encountered in open spaces. Covers are manufactured with a durable, self-aligning hinge assembly and swivels open a full 180 degrees. When compared to traditional flip-top covers, the fully open cover is expected to reduce tripping incidents.

“The improved durability and ease of use with our new 10-inch poke-thru covers was met with such praise from customers that we decided to expand this design to our existing  6” and 8” Evolution poke-thru family of products,” added Cole.

Evolution Series floor boxes and poke-thru devices are UL listed. The poke-thru devices are UL fire classified for up to two hours in accordance with U.S. and Canadian safety standards. They also meet all scrub water requirements.

Evolution Series floor boxes and poke-thru devices are available at electrical distributors or through the Middle Atlantic Products dealer network.
