Long Island healthcare facility invests $4.5 million in renovation

St. James Rehabilitation & Healthcare Center project includes new cardiac rehabilitation program and enhanced services


St. James Rehabilitation & Healthcare Center in St. James, N.Y., completed a multimillion dollar renovation project that includes a new cardiac rehabilitation program and enhanced services, according to an article on the Long Island Exchange website.

The renovation includes redesigned bedrooms, family and respite rooms, and a new concierge program that promotes a healing and engaging environment for its 100 sub-acute patients and 130 long-term residents, the article said.

The new inpatient rehabilitation program also features a Smart Car, supermarket, restaurant, life-sized street crossing, kitchen, laundry room and a model master suite used for occupational therapy for patients to become more acclimated to their home environment.
